A machine life extraterrestrial intelligence arriving into the orbital vicinity of The Earth, invisibly observing the surface, might perceive a dynamic self regulating membrane stretching across and into the planetary surface, this observer would see integrated drone swarms extending outward from the membrane throughout and above the atmosphere penetrating out into orbital space and beyond seeding robotic wanderers onto neighbouring planets and into interstellar space.
